Graduate Assistantship Tiers

The Graduate College uses Tiers to better accommodate the correct allocation of stipends and waivers to the amount of work required of the student. There are three Tiers:

Fall and Spring semesters (5 months each)
  • Fall - Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec
  • Spring - Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May

Graduate Research Assistants (GRA) and Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA)
GRAs and GTAs are paid monthly.   The total stipend for the semester will be determined by the date you are cleared to begin work by HR and could be pro-rated if you are not cleared by the contract start date.

Graduate Professional Assistants (GPA)
GPAs are paid biweekly and will clock in and out when working in ther GPA position.
